About ‘FERCC Fellowship’
It is often observed that several PhD students in India are hard Awardspressed for finance at the time when they need the most and when they should concentrate on their research. Such unfortunate happenings occur due to various reasons out of which time constraint of their institutional fellowships/scholarships is the most important one. FERCC Fellowship is conceptualized and being established by our Trust with the basic objective of supporting deserving research scholars pursuing Ph.D. in the scientific fields related to weather and climate for up to one year with the sole objective that the young researchers will be relieved of their financial stress and devote their valuable time for research.
Any student registered for PhD in a recognised University/Institute in India is eligible to apply for this award based on the following criteria:
- The candidate is close to his/her completion of PhD work leading to its submission.
- The candidate is not a recipient of any other fellowship/scholarship for the research work during the time period of the fellowship.
- The candidate has published at least one research paper in a reputed journal.
- The amount of the FERCC Fellowship at present is Rs.8000/- per month which may be increased based on the financial condition of the Trust. This amount will be transferred to the candidate’s account electronically from FERCC bank account.
- PhD Supervisor of the candidate recommends the candidate for FERCC Fellowship with the hope that he/she will submit PhD thesis within 6-7 months of the award of fellowship.
- The candidate will have to acknowledge FERCC Fellowship in his/her PhD thesis and papers published after the award letter.
- The candidate needs to submit progress report every 3 months recommended by his/her PhD supervisor.
Eligible and interested candidates may apply to the President, FERCC at fercc6622@gmail.com with their CV and PhD supervisor’s recommendation. The FERCC Trust will evaluate the application and take appropriate decision on the award of the fellowship.
