Career Opportunities in Information Technology – Counselling session at Khariar (Autonomous) College, Odisha on 15^th November 2022

Khariar College (Autonomous) invited Dr. (Mrs.) Shefali Sushil Dash, Treasurer, FERCC, to counsel their students on career opportunities in the field of Information Technology (IT). More than 100 students pursuing their graduate and post graduate degrees in science attended the session. Various options in the field of IT, like digital governance, telecommunication, e-business, ERP, cyber security, cloud computing, etc. were discussed. Students were advised to self assess their career goals based on their attitude, interests, personality, needs, values, skills and then select the one best suited by matching and aligning them with various opportunities. The session was followed by a lively interactive session and students were encouraged to express their queries freely. The speaker suggested to organize more career counseling sessions for the students by inviting experts in the field, if necessary, through virtual mode. Mr. Biswajit Padhi, President and Dr. Tarun Kumar Pradhan, Principal, Khariar College, whole heartedly supported this idea.
